2020 State HIT Connect

In 2019 Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) went live with clinical data feeds from the three MCOs that operate in Mississippi. These feeds bring DOM new data on labs, medications and allergies from the MCOs. These connections to the MCOs follow DOM’s previous connections to three large providers for bidirectional exchange of C-CDA clinical summaries. As DOM integrates new clinical data from MCOs, it’s clear that Medicaid agencies face a challenge in obtaining MCO clinical data that matches the quantity and quality of data from providers. Meeting this challenge requires collaboration and continuous technical improvement from the MCOs and Medicaid agencies.
