Medicaid and insurance affordability programs under the ACA need to engage consumers to facilitate providing healthcare to millions of people. The Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE) serves over 1.3 million Medicaid and APTC/CSR customers in Maryland and has established itself as a national leader in applying digital technologies to engage consumers. This session will share experiences and lessons learned from MHBE's award-winning digital platform, recognized by CIO 100 in 2019, to talk about how states can apply digital technologies to transform consumer experience for Medicaid and other insurance affordability programs such as APTC/CSR.
