State Medicaid Agencies across the country, in partnership with HMS, have joined Australia’s Digital Health Cooperative Research Centre (Digital Health CRC), the largest digital health research cooperative in the world, to put Big Data to meaningful use. The Digital Health CRC is funded by government, universities and businesses, totaling over $160M (AUD). Top universities, including Stanford, Southern Methodist University, and the University of Canberra, lead the research efforts and work with government and business to develop analytical models and actionable policies aimed at improving the quality of healthcare for all.

This panel discussion will focus on the power of sharing de-identified data on a global scale to support research. Panelists will share recent research projects, including opioid abuse and recovery, reduction in readmissions and geospatial analysis to identify social determinants of health. New predictive models and ways the analytics are driving the actions of payers, providers and members for a better healthcare system will also be discussed.
