Disconnected data is everywhere. The lack of connected data results in unnecessary expense, excess maintenance, errors in data translation, and even mistakes in patient diagnosis. Why does it continue and what can we do to stop it? This panel will discuss the benefits of a connected health care ecosystem from the agency, vendor and policy perspectives. It will explore HL7/FHIR and other standards, and the associated pros and cons. What are we giving up? What are we gaining? What can you do today to help move to a common standard?
