Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) funding sunsets in September 2021 and the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Act funding ends in September 2020, but the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is committed to continued support of health IT investments that benefit the Medicaid Enterprise. Funding through Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) is ongoing, and can help your state continue to sustain and develop health IT infrastructure. However, in order to transition to MMIS funding, health IT functions and services must benefit the Medicaid Enterprise and advance Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) maturity.
This roundtable session is designed for those health and human services leaders seeking information about how to best plan for and leverage available funding, identify alignment of current health IT infrastructure to the MITA framework, obtain outcomes-based certification of health IT solutions to receive maintenance and operations (M&O) funding at 75% federal match rate, and transition to the MMIS funding stream for future design, development, and implementation (DDI) of health IT solutions.
